I haven’t really wanted to do a happy list in a while. I think my last one was October and then… well… things weren’t great. Guess what though? I’m moving on. I’ve pulled myself together, put on my positive pants and am now VERY much ready for the December edition.
Here are a few of the things that have been making me smile recently…
After lots of cleaning and a thorough clear out my house has been looking a bit bare. I can’t afford to do everything that I have planned yet, but I treated myself to some decorating bits so that my lounge (or as I like to call it now The Snug) could get a lick of paint and a spruce up. Although it’s not quite ready to show you, the first coats are on. I can see my home starting to slowly take shape and become my very own in a totally new way. Not only am I moving on, my home is too.
Back in the Summer Avon asked if I’d like to guest blog on Avon’s Beauty Blog. I was completely amazed and excited by the prospect, but frustrated too because so much other stuff was going on in my life that I just couldn’t fit it in.
But that was then and this is now!
If you pop over to the Avon Beauty Blog you’ll find that my first post is now up – it’s an easy, sparkly makeup tutorial. I AM SO PROUD RIGHT NOW I COULD BURST!!! *Ahem.*
We may bicker constantly (there have been plenty of ‘Arrgh mum stop nagging me’ moments recently) but deep down we both know she means well and can always be counted on for her never ending support (and painting/cleaning skills!). Thanks Mum!
I’m not the sort of person who cries very often or even really likes to open up and talk about feelings, but my friends have made it really easy for me to talk things through when needed and given me some absolutely stellar advice. They’ve also had me laughing so hard sometimes that I’ve had tears rolling down my cheeks. Thanks girls, you’ve been amazing! xxx
Speaking of friends, I saw stacks of them last weekend at a meet up that my two incredibly talented friends Pippa and Sophie organised. Not only did I learn lots from the guest speakers, but I won a photography day with Jessops (which I’m sure I’ll report back on once I’ve been) and a selection box of chocolates from Ombar.
Oh.
My.
Days.
This chocolate uses raw cacao and all natural ingredients. I’m working my way through the range which include some truly scrumptious and unusual flavours. My favourites so far are the Goji Berry and Strawberry Mylk chocolate bars and the Cocoa Mylk Buttons.
Remember my Christmas wishlist post in which I said my dream ‘money no object’ gift would be a Sage Appliances Coffee Maker? Well the lovely team invited me along to have a go at being a barista for the night using their range of coffee machines. There will plenty more on that in an upcoming post, but as this is my happy list here’s a sneak peek of me in my happy place – making a cuppa!
…and with that I’m off to make a coffee. How fitting! 🙂
