Fits of giggles | October 16 Life Lately

October Life Lately

October was quite a month! It had it’s ups, it had it’s downs, but the good definitely outweighed the bad. Where do I even start? Well I suppose it all began on a quiet Saturday morning in my pyjamas…

The Bloggers Blog Awards

On the 1st October I was curled up on the sofa contemplating getting up and having a shower, but struggling to find any motivation. However, after seeing lots of excited tweets on my timeline from those on their way to the Bloggers Blog Awards in Leeds which was happening that afternoon, I somehow ended up deciding to attend at the very last minute.

When I say last minute, I mean that literally! There was only one train left that would get me there on time and I still don’t know how I managed to get myself showered, styled, packed and out the door within 40 minutes. I made it though and the awards were an absolute blast. I caught up with so many people that I don’t get to see enough of day to day thanks to us all being dotted around the country. Well done to Hayley at Tea Party Beauty and everyone involved in organising the awards, you did an amazing job!

Sometimes you just have to stop reasoning with yourself as to why you can’t do something and just go out and do it!

Coffee – ALL the coffee!

I seem to have a lot of pictures of coffee on my camera roll from October which is an accurate reflection of the month. As well as drinking a million cappuccinos I finally tried a Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Latte and discovered for myself what all the fuss is about. It’s incredibly sweet and absolutely delicious. (Not one for those who like their coffee strong and bitter though!)

Breakfasts, Brunches and Lunches

I’ve been travelling here there and everywhere this month which has meant much less cooking at home than usual but lots of delicious meals out to keep me going. My favourites included a delicious cooked breakfast in a gorgeous little restaurant called Bohemia in Stamford…

…I was starting to miss home cooking though as well as craving something healthier, so my beloved courgetti came back with a vengeance at the weekend! (Recipe from The Londoner here!)

Home Comforts

Our boiler broke again just as the cold snap started which meant no hot water or heating for 5 days. Boo.

To keep warm I snuggled into my biggest, fluffiest dressing gown, dug out my microwaveable hand warmers and downed copious amounts of hot chocolate. It wasn’t exactly a hardship. Plus the cats were extra snuggly all week long.

Events

I have been to some absolutely cracking events this month which I’m excited to share with you during November. I’ve been to not one but two cookery schools, a personalised jewellery event and got a sneaky peek at the Marks and Spencer’s beauty advent calendar… as well as sampling their delicious Christmas food range! Watch this space.

Friends

I have spent most of the month in uncontrollable fits of giggles thanks to my awesome friends being awesome. Thanks for making October truly memorable in all the fun and silly ways girls 🙂

…and that was my October! How was yours? I hope someone made you laugh out loud too!
