I’m having a little bit of a love affair with New Look at the moment. For ages I couldn’t find anything in there that fit me, then this season BOOM everything seems to be the right cut, the right shape and the right colours! Whilst searching for a dress for Ladies Day at Ascot (read my post on that here) I picked up a little summer dress to try on and instantly fell in love with it. Then I checked the price tag.
£7.99
I had to check it twice because I was convinced that it should be more like £27.99, but no I had read it right the first time.
It wasn’t the right dress for Ascot but I decided to buy it anyway and wore it last weekend to the Scarlett London Bloggers Ball. Although this dress cost me less than a lipstick, I felt like a million dollars in it!
It’s off the shoulder but in a comfortable, safe way rather than making me feel like I’m about to show my bra at any moment (I wore a strapless bra underneath) and the cut was really flattering on my pear shape. The top is fitted but the skirt flares out in the classic skater style that I love and the material has a bit of stretch to keep it comfy.
As the dress had a luscious pattern all over it I kept my accessories simple with a rose gold necklace, a few rings and nude platform shoes.
Ever since that weekend the weather has consisted of rain, rain and more rain, but for one day I got to twirl my way through London in this tropical beauty and bask in the warm London summer glow! And that, my lovelies, was priceless!
