During my recent trip to Cambridge I paid a visit to the Gant store to pick up something I’ve been on the lookout for and had finally found – the perfect casual white shirt.
Gant’s clothing line has a chic but preppy Ivy League feel that I just adore. Think Bretton stripes, navy, crisp whites and boating loafers, along with their signature perfect roll collars and locker loops.
Their new Rugger collection (which is where I found my white shirt) maintains the preppy vibe but everything is more relaxed with looser fits, soft cotton and silks and some of the most gorgeous PJ style shirts I’ve seen. This beauty is regrettably out of my price range but that hasn’t stopped me constantly going back to drool over it on the website!
I left the store a very happy bunny with a crisp white wrap shirt in a light cotton. I’ve been pairing it with skinny jeans and, because we’re still getting snow blizzards despite it being the end of April, a leather jacket (faux of course).
I can’t wait for Summer to arrive now because I think it’s going to be perfect with some denim shorts and platform wedges.
A look I’ve been loving recently is to roll up my shirt sleeves. It sounds really simple but it makes a big difference to the overall style and I think it’s perfect for a bit of casual weekend chic.
I always feel much better when I’m in a good pair of heels but I have to do a fair amount of travelling and there’s nothing worse than sore achey feet. If I’m going somewhere nice I pop on some flats for the journey and keep my change of shoes in a little bag. When I arrive I swap shoes outside and conceal the evidence with a nice scarf – sneaky!
