With the Ski season drawing to a close, the specialist tour operators Inghams threw a Winter Closing Party and I was invited along to share in their celebrations.
The event was held at The Montague On The Gardens Hotel, a beautiful pet friendly place in Bloomsbury which transforms it’s Garden Grill area into a fun Winter Ski Lodge over the colder months. We arrived at the log cabin to find it kitted out for us with a roaring fire, blankets and a mulled wine and hot chocolate station to keep us warm and snug during our stay.
Fran, Kara, Mona and I had fun catching up and reminiscing over that time that we all had a bath in public (not as dodgy as it sounds – you can read about it all here!). Jayne (otherwise known as Tink) was there too. She has a lovely blog that I’ve only just discovered after meeting her at the pizza making class earlier that month.
Inghams had put together a game of Play Your Cards Right for us to play. They’d show us the height of a mountain on one of their ski resorts, then we’d have to guess whether the next mountain range they showed us was higher or lower. My conclusion from playing this game: I know nothing about geography!

As we all sat enjoying our hot toddies snow suddenly began to billow from a snow machine. You’ve never heard so much excited squealing! We were up on our feet in a shot twirling around and playing with the flakes as they fell.
After that we were all in a more playful mood and soon everyone was raiding the props box for appropriate Winter attire.

By the way, have you ever tried on a snow suit? SO cosy. Mine had a cute belt too – I loved it (even if it was made for someone about a foot taller than me!)

Luckily I hadn’t eaten much before I arrived because the canapes included toad in the hole (a miniature yorkshire pudding filled with mashed potato, gravy and sausages) and deep fried camembert. Perfect Winter warmers. I was justified in having double helpings of each because they were so dainty. (That’s my story and I’m sticking with it).
I was absolutely thrilled to win a lesson at London’s largest indoor ski centre Chel-Ski on the night. N and I are in London for a weekend in April and this is going to be our fun day-date!
I have to thank both Inghams and Branded 3 PR for hosting such a brilliant night and helping us to give Winter a proper send off. After all the talk of skiing in France and Switzerland, husky rides and Winter Wonderlands in Norway and lakeside retreats in Italy, I’m totally inspired to finally book a getaway now too. The only decision left to make is: Where to first?!
