Here are my recent discoveries that have slotted seamlessly into my routine to the point where I’m not sure how I got by without them before!
This is by far the must indulgent product in my routine. It’s described as ‘botox in a jar’ and promises immediate lifting, tightening and firming. First and foremost it’s a mask which you leave on for 20 minutes and then wash off. However I read that it can be used over your moisturiser as well and that’s how I find that it works best for me.
I was initially concerned at the thought of using bee venom on my face as I have sensitive skin, however I’ve actually found it really gentle on my skin.
If I had to pick one skincare product to take to with me to a desert island, Beegood’s Honey & Propolis Cream Cleanser would be my winner- bees really are one of nature’s beauty heroes.
I squeeze a small amount of the cleanser onto my finger and massage it into my skin. It releases the most wonderful scent and every time I use it I feel like I’ve been transported to the spa for an aromatherapy treatment. It’s so relaxing and calming.
After application I gently remove it with a muslin cloth and warm water. My skin is left feeling clean and luxuriated. I have taken to using this every single day and actually look forward to cleansing my skin now! I can’t recommend this one highly enough for a bit of everyday pampering.
I get very dark circles under my eyes and it’s been a real struggle recently to conceal them. I have tried a few different products and whilst my Benefit Erase Paste is very good, even the palest shade has been looking a bit ‘peachy’ on me lately. Other products just seem to sit heavy on my skin and look very obvious.
In desperation I took to Twitter for advice and Laura Mercier’s concealer was recommended several times.
I read lots of reviews that said “you only need the tiniest amount” and took it with a pinch of salt. It turns out, however, that it’s completely true! A pin prick sized amount is so highly pigmented that you can get a really great coverage from only a few dots of it. Here’s how far a pin prick goes so that you can see:
I have the lightest shade which is looking a lot more natural against my skin than the erase paste. It’s a very dry formula but used sparingly doesn’t give my eyes a ‘cakey’ effect. In short, it’s working wonders and I wish I’d discovered it sooner.
I brought this on impulse after making the mistake of setting foot into Space NK when I’d had a Prosecco. My usual ‘do you really need to spend £23 on haircare?’ logic was clearly dimished by the alcohol.
Having seen rave reviews for the Dryspun Spray I found this a bit average the first few times I used it. I was applying it to my roots only and whilst it added a little bit of volume, the results weren’t enough to justify the price.
However after curling my hair with straightening irons I decided to spray it on my waves and ‘fluff them up’ a bit. I loved the results! You know when you shake your hair to add volume and then are in despair when it’s back to being flat two minutes later? Well this stops that from happening!
The best way I can think to describe it is like a really light hairspray but with a lovely light, flexible hold. I suppose it’s called ‘dryspun’ because the result is almost like a cobweb texture.
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Heaven Skincare Deborah Mitchell at the Big Blogger Conference and she kindly gifted me a second pot of the Bee Venom Mask. I almost regret saying that I’d like to run a giveaway with it, as I kind of want to keep it for myself! However you lot are lovely so go on then! 😉
For your chance to win you can enter below by following my blog on Bloglovin and following me on Twitter (these are mandatory entries). There are some bonus entries too that you can do to increase your chances.
