Being extremely pale and prone to sunburn at the merest mention of the word ‘summer’, I’ve tried my fair share of fake tan products over the years. Unfortunately my sensitive skin has suffered an allergic reaction each time (and some terrible streaking too!) which put me off trying any more products for a long time.
This is why when MooGoo very kindly sent me a bottle of their all natural ingredient full How Now Brown Cow tanning product to try, I kept chickening out! Eventually I did a patch test and after a few days no reaction had occurred so I felt confident enough to apply it all over. I’m so glad that I did because it gives the most subtle, most natural looking tan that I could have wished for. The tan can be applied daily if you want to gradually build up the colour, but as I’m very pale I was happy with the results of one application, which faded away just as naturally too.
I expected the tan to have a strong smell but it didn’t, so you can apply it in the morning then go about your day as normal. I found that 20 minutes was sufficient to let it dry before getting dressed.
This is the first tanning product that I’ve ever tried that passes the ‘Loved By Laura’ test, so if you’re pale or have sensitive skin like me then I can highly recommend it!
Having used the same pot of bronzing pearls for at least 7 years (expiry dates exshmiry dates!) it was probably best that I get a new bronzer! This one is lovely and matte so I’ve found that it works very well for daytime use. Much like the tanning cream above, it can be built up to give more of a contoured look if required. It’s a substantial size too so, err…. here’s to the next 7 years I suppose! 😉
My skin goes a bit haywire when the hot weather hits. One day it’s oily and the next it’s dry. For the oilier days I pop a bit of Porefessional on the shiny bits of my face, primarily my cheeks and nose. It dries almost instantly in a velvety soft touch and helps to mattify my face in a really natural way whilst also minimizing the pores on my nose.
I’ve grown to like the taste of bottled, chilled water this year, but I still like to find ways to make it more interesting. However when I was contacted about reviewing the latest health drink to hit the UK, Maple Water, I wasn’t sure what to think!
Is maple water a fad too far? Would it actually taste like maple and more to the point… would I want it to?!
My curiosity got the better of me on this one, I had to see what all the fuss was about; especially after I remembered that it was maple water that Beyonce was reported to have used to help get in shape for her role in DreamGirls. If it’s good enough for Queen B…
To explain the current buzz around it, here are some facts about DrinkMaple’s water:
Nutrionally, it packs a punch too!
To describe the taste of it, I’d put it quite simply – it’s water but with a subtle maple sweetness. It’s very enjoyable and not at all thick and syruppy which had been my fear.
I limited myself to one glass a day after my morning workout and I wouldn’t replace normal water completely, but found it a really pleasant way to give my day a nutrient boost.
