The sunshine has made me want to take a fresh approach with my makeup too. Here are my current favourites:
I tried this foundation at the Benefit Boutique and had to take a bottle home with me. This is light enough that I forget that I’m wearing it and gives an even, natural coverage on my very pale skin.
Maybelline Big Eyes Eyeliner, £4.99
I do try and get my 8hrs sleep a night… but I usually fail miserably! This is my ‘fake it until you make it’ discovery. To instantly brighten my eyes in the morning I line the lower inner rim with the white pencil. I don’t use the black end as I’ve recently switched to a brown liner for a softer look, I bought it for the jumbo pencil size which I really like.
I have always had a bit of an issue with celebrity after celebrity jumping on the bandwagon to release their own scents, but I forgive Britney for two reasons:
1. She was one of the first to do it.
2. She got it right!
N bought me this perfume as a present and it was instant love. It has a delicious fruity scent with top notes of Framboise, Black Cherry and Plum, but base notes of Musk, Vanilla and Amber stop it from being too sickly sweet. I own the normal Fantasy perfume too but this one has the edge for me, it’s got a more grown up feel to it. It’s also very affordable which is a welcome relief to my bank balance.
I received this in my goodie bag at the LDNmeet event back in January. It is like Spring in a bottle, releasing a heady floral scent of fresh cut roses. The hand cream itself is deeply moisturising with a lovely buttery consistency, but after a few minutes it absorbs very well and doesn’t leave me feeling like I need to wipe my hands on a tissue before I touch anything!
Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain* – Crush, £7.99
I received a Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in my LDNmeet goodie bag too but unfortunately the colour ‘Enticing’ just didn’t suit me. However it did remind me that for a whole summer I’d lived on my Revlon balms, so I repurchased ‘Crush’, a bright berry shade and quite predictably have used it every day since.
If you want to try bold statement lips but are a little scared of where to start, these are a great way to experiment. You can apply one coat for a subtle stain or build it up in more layers to get a much stronger colour.
Barry M contour Kit, £6.49
I’ve only just started using this but I am already liking it a lot! I’ll be doing a more in depth review later, but for now it’s worthy of a mention.
