The Liebster Award

In the last few weeks Caroline at mademoiselleaventure and Marielle of loveandmarmalade.com each nominated me for the Liebster Award. Thanks lovelies!

The idea behind this award is to help us all to get to know each other better and discover brilliant new up and coming blogs in the process!

The rules are simple:

• Link back to the person who nominated you.
• Answer the questions your nominator has given. 
• Nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers (I managed 8!)
• Create your own set of 11 questions for your nominees to answer. 
• Notify your nominees!

I was given 11 questions to answer by Caroline and Marielle so I’ve picked some from each. Here goes:

If you could travel back in time, what era would you choose and why?
The late 80’s, early 90’s! I was too young and poor to appreciate it properly at the time, now I could do it right!

Power dressing, killer heels and shades? YES! Shoulder pads, perms and crimping? NO!

Plus I could watch 80’s tv all day and laugh at the size of their phones.

(Erm I MAY have got a little distracted thinking about this, hence the 80’s inspired fashion board below!)

What is your favourite food?
My dad’s risotto, which isn’t really risotto at all! It’s basically a rice dish with bacon, chopped up omelette, tomato, pork or beef all marinaded in at least half a bottle of Worcestershire sauce. SO good!

Facebook or instagram?
Instagram – I love pretty photos! (I’m @lovedbylaurac – come say hello and share yours!)

Why did you start blogging?
I love taking photos and there is usually a story behind it all to share, so my blog was born.

Is there anything you dislike about blogging?

Yes – uploading photos takes ages at home! Soon to be resolved though with fibre optic broadband, I can’t wait.

What is your favourite place that you’ve travelled to?
Borneo for our honeymoon. Seeing the baby orangutans feeding in the jungle was one of those moments ticked off the bucket list.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Bold lips or bold eyes? 

I love a strong lip colour, it can transform your face in an instant.

What is your holy grail beauty product?
Loreal Super Liner – a liquid eyeliner that’s actually easy to apply.

What are your 3 favourite blogs?

Little Winter (mainly for the drop dead gorgeous pictures of their cats)

*Update: 08/02/15* – I just got nominated again by Steph at misswrighty85 ! As I’ve just completed one of these it’s a bit soon for another, so here’s a bonus q&a.

Q. Which film do you wish you were the main character in?
A. Ooh that’s tough, but I would probably go with Scott Pilgrim vs the World, although I would of course be a female version of him… or the female lead Ramona Flowers! If you haven’t seen the film, it’s definitely an acquired taste but I adore it. It’s geeky and colourful and musical and funny. It also means that I’d be able to play electric guitar which would be awesome!
