My Little Box Review February 2015 Edition / The Frenchie Box

My Little Box Review February 15 Edition Frenchie Box Ines De La Fressange

On Friday night I arrived home feeling pretty frazzled after a long week, but Mr F soon cheered me up by producing the latest My Little Box. He had found the delivery notice and picked it up from the post office for me whilst I was at work – give that boy a gold star!
I’d been expecting this one with some trepidation as I’d seen that it was a collaboration with the french fashion muse Ines De La Fressange and wasn’t sure how that would translate to a very British audience. (I confess that I hadn’t actually heard of Ines before I googled her!).

Well, if the My Little ‘Frenchie’ box is anything to go by, Ines is a woman I’d like to know better – she certainly made this British girl clap her hands in glee! The whole box is so beautifully put together from the Parisian navy and red colour scheme to the lifestyle items, all the way through to the quotes from the lady herself.

Read on if you want to see what’s in the box. If you don’t want spoilers, skip straight to the bottom to see how you can get involved in a gift swap happening in March!

This month’s box contained:

A gorgeous mobile phone holder which I think is just big enough for my monster phone (I like a big screen!). If it isn’t, I’m going to use this for my business cards as it’s just too pretty to go to waste.

A jar filled with tiny scrolls of quotes from Ines, the idea being that you open one each day. I LOVE this. The jar is now on my dressing table so I can read a new one each morning as I get ready. When I’ve opened them all, I’m going to start a ‘happy memories’ collection to replace it, where I write down something every day that made me smile and then open them all at the end of the year.

Loreal Brow Artiste Pencil in dark brunette – they know me well since I already own and use this pencil, although I use a lighter colour normally. Still though, they made a good assumption since I have very dark brown hair.

By Terry Crayon Kohl Terrybly – am I a bad beauty blogger for not having heard of this brand? Imagine my delight upon googling to find that this full sized pencil is priced at £22 on Net A Porter, more than the price of the whole box! It’s a high-precision waterproof eye pencil, something I have been wanting to buy since trying one out when I had my Benefit makeover the other week, so this gets a big ‘how did you know just what I wanted?’ thumbs up from me!

My Little Box’s Embellisseur Teint de Peche – a radiance booster in a peach tone. I’ve been impressed with the own range items to date so I look forward to road testing this.

As always, you get a magazine and a cute print – I never actually get around to framing these but I’m thinking of taking some to work for a little inspiration during the day.

Also included was a pack of DHC Oil Blotting Papers which you can keep in your handbag to remove that shiny forehead oiliness that appears halfway through the day. Again this impressed me as I felt like I got a bonus gift – you usually get 3 beauty items rather than 4.

If you love the idea of these boxes then you might like to get involved in a DIY version! Adele at adelesmith.co.uk is running a Spring Gift Swap. I really like the idea of putting together my own thoughtful box for someone to open – it’s like an Easter version of Secret Santa, but hopefully without that one person who forgets and ends up wrapping a box of Maltesers from the garage!

You can find all of the information on this page, but be quick if you want to sign up as the deadline to send parcels is the 20th March.

I’m in so you never know, maybe one of you will end up with a parcel arriving on your doorstep from Loved By Laura!
