Every time I pop round to my parents, my mum produces a treasure
trove of goodies for me to take home. She loves to browse the thrift
shops and picks up some wonderful bargains, albeit very random purchases
sometimes.
This time was no different – she asked me
if I could make use of a pair of slippers she’d picked up. “Who are
Champney’s? Isn’t that a spa?” she mused. A quick once over from me confirmed that these were indeed the most luxuriously soft spa booties.
Then we noticed that each had an ‘on/off’ button built in and found a zip at the heel of each with a battery pack. Much to our amusement, we soon discovered that the slippers gently vibrate! I
shall be giving myself a nice pedicure pamper next weekend and
putting these to good use.
…hope N doesn’t mind that all TV shows will now be
accompanied by a gentle humming soundtrack!
She also found these little cuties:
…a ribbon garland with loops at either side for easy hanging, with
painted wooden pegs. Perfect for clipping some postcards or
photos to – are these not just the cutest little find?
The Passport Redo
I didn’t renew my passport when it expired, so my last passport photo was 15 years old and I looked fresh as a daisy. I got new passport photos done last weekend and was so depressed by them, that I went back and redid them!
Top Tip #1: Do not wear dark lipstick – it looks terrible with the lighting.
Top Tip #2 Take some concealer with you into the booth and apply generously if required. The lighting may reveal blemishes you didn’t even know you had!
N thought I was barmy paying out again and I agree that it was total vanity on my part, but seriously I can’t tell you how much happier I am with the second set. I would have hated having to use the others for the next 10 years so the extra £5 was worth it!
A special delivery
Recently I’d been thinking about my favourite book from childhood. I could picture the cover but couldn’t remember the name. When I eventually found it I couldn’t resist buying a copy, especially as it’s now out of print. It arrived a few days ago and as soon as I turned the first page the whole tale came flooding back. Ah the memories – I can’t wait to show it to my mum.
New music
I only just discovered Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and have had it stuck in my head ever since – that song is so catchy that I can’t help smiling and dancing along!
