A couple of years ago one of my best friends emigrated from the UK and over time we’d lost touch. This week I dropped her a little ‘hello’ on email. 30 minutes later we were swopping pictures and catching up – I love it that we can always pick up exactly where we left off, no matter how much time passes by.
Winter finally arrived last week and brought with it darkness, fog and never ending traffic on the daily commute. One day whilst stuck in a particularly bad jam, I flicked to my ‘cheesy’ ipod tracklist and before long was singing at the top of my voice, serenading the other motorists and dancing in my seat.* Instead of arriving to the office stressed out and in a bad mood, I bounded in that morning in a great mood.
*I sincerely apologise to any motorists who may have caught sight of this in their rear view mirror.
I started this blog wondering if anyone would ever read it, so I was over the moon to receive notifications this week that I had my first followers, and also some lovely comments on my latest posts. Thanks guys for letting me know you are reading and for introducing me to your blogs!
As this was narrated by the man himself the delivery was perfect . There were some very funny moments which caused me to laugh out loud, and he is just so good at observational comedy that I was nodding along saying ‘that’s so true’ at regular intervals.
I’m now listening to The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion which is funny in a completely different way.
Speaking of comedians, Mr F and I went to our local theatre to see Mark Watson do stand up last Sunday. I first saw him on Live at the Apollo and he now hosts Never Mind the Buzzcocks and is a regular on Mock the Week. The show was very funny and we laughed lots. We’ve now made plans
to see a few more comedians next year – something to look forward to each month.
Mr F and I like to send each other little messages during the day, usually silly random pictures to make each other laugh.
Spending time with my sister at the Good Food Show was just what the doctor ordered. Roll on Christmas, our next reunion.
My cats always make me smile, whether they are curled up with us on the sofa, begging for cuddles at the crack of dawn, or obsessing over boxes and anything that looks vaguely like string.
Is that string? |
That’s DEFINITELY string!!! |
I picked up a Yankee Candle Advent Calendar at the Good Food Show – each day contains a Christmas scented tea light – what a cute idea!
Mr F has a Star Wars Lego calendar, so we’re both happy campers 🙂
Hope you’ve all found things to make you smile this week too xoxo
