Hey Mr Postman! My Little Box October Edition – ‘DvF’

(Update – for my review of the latest box click HERE !)

I may have mentioned previously that my husband is a bit of a geek. Not to ‘The Big Bang Theory’ levels, but enough to recently sign up to a monthly subscription service called Loot Crate. This, according to the website (and my husband) “delivers crates of awesome to
those that live and embrace the geek and gaming lifestyle.” He is like a kid at Christmas every time he opens a new box.

Not wanting to feel left out, this month I’ve discovered a very girly equivalent for me – My Little Box!

Again it’s a monthly subscription service, but this one promises to deliver must-have beauty products, fashion and lifestyle accessories and other ‘goodies’.

I signed up for my first box around the middle of October and after what seemed like an eternity, it finally arrived today. Talk about anticipation! The first box can take up to 3 weeks, but I was advised that subsequent boxes will be delivered between the 10th and the 20th of each month.

Each box is themed. The first box I received (October’s) is based upon all things Diane von Furstenberg. I love the little details – right down to the sticker on the inside of the cardboard packaging with a signature DvF print border.

My cats were pretty excited too, but I have a suspicion that the ribbon had something to do with this

The first thing in the box was a printed quote “Be the woman you want to be!” I especially like the little WonderWoman figure on her desk – nice touch!
Next up is a magazine which contains articles that tie in with the theme of the month and the contents of the box. This time around there is an interview with Diane von Furstenberg amongst other things.
Next up was a fabulously glossy envelope adorned with more DvF print.

It was begging to be opened!

It’s a DvF print scarf designed especially for My Little Box in a lovely soft material. I’m looking forward to wearing it over the winter, with black so that I can let the scarf do the talking.

Keeping to the DvF theme, the next item is a cute little DvF logo pin, which will find its home on my black trench coat from now on.
Finally there’s a drawstring bag which promises more treats. Not only do I love cute packaging, but also the suspense that it creates!

The drawstring bag contains the beauty items. First up a L’Occitane hand cream which I’m very pleased by as I am already a big fan of L’Occitane (I have an addiction to their shower gels which smell gorgeous!). Then there is a Keratese Hairspray and a cleansing water from My Little Box’s own range.

So there you have it – the contents of the My Little Box for October. Considering this costs less than £15 I’m really impressed. I will use everything in the box other than the hairspray. In fact I’ve
already used the cleansing water, which left my skin soft and refreshed,
so on day one I have only good things to say.
It all feels like an indulgent little present to myself… and after all why not?

What I’m really looking forward to is receiving November’s box as I’ve been very careful to avoid any spoilers as to it’s contents. All I know is that the theme of the box is ‘cosy’ which sounds perfect for this time of year.
